Monday Blues, literally.

Monday is the first day of the week but the last day when you feel like dressing well. But this should not be the case- Mondays should considered be the Maximum Impact Days. It is actually when you would walk into your office after two days off (hopefully), and make everyone look like you take your job seriously and are happy to start the week off.

Now that it's spring time, this is the look I sort of put together early morning, half awake, but it turned out to look pretty decent.

Shirt-an exhibition, Sweater- M&S, Black High Waist Pants- Forever New, Black Shoes- Forever 21

What I wore, as you can see above, was a simple ruffle shirt with a matching V-neck sweater from Marks & Spencer with high waist black pants from Forever New. These pants fit SO well, it's unbelievable. So comfortable yet perfectly fitted at the right places, read: ankles.

Hope this simple look inspires you in a little way whatsoever, to tackle the week ahead- BANG ON!

Feeling Burgundy

Winter's on its way out. HURRY and wear the colour Burgundy.

It's not really maroon. It's not red. It's somewhere on the dark side. It's totally a winter colour.

How can you add Burgundy elements to a basic corporate outfit?
Here's how:

Wearing a burgundy scarf, carrying a burgundy clutch or wearing burgundy shoes/ boots can make a plain outfit chic, even in the winters.
1. White shirt with collar work: Topshop 2. Burgundy Scarf/muffler: Paul Smith
3. Black Jacket: Topshop 4. Burgundy heels: Christian Louboutin
5. Grey skirt: Topshop 6. Burgundy Handbag: Fendi

Another idea: Burgundy pants

Burgundy lipstick and nailpaint: Wow, this really stands out.

one nail another colour

You know how the trend is to wear a different colour nailpain on just one finger nail? Well I did that recently when I was wearing burgundy. I put a glittery pink on one finger nail. Check it out.

Here's another option with mint:

Keep it burgundy before spring arrives! Then it'll be time for neon, mints, corals and yellows again.

Another Formal Party

2.0.1.3.

Here's to new beginnings.
Hope this year turns out to be much more than the year gone by for all of us.

A few days ago, I had to go for a formal (new year's) dinner with some friends and family. For such an occasion, I would normally wear a dress but since it's the peak of winter in my city and hence it's absolutely FREEZING- I decided to wear my electric blue blazer with pants instead.

This time I did it up with a white top instead of a black one. It's a simple sleeveless white top with sequin on it. It's not too much but totally apt to wear under the colourful blazer.

White sequin top- Promod, Boots- Forever New, Gold Watch- Tommy Hilfger
Bag- Dior, Black Tights- Zara
The fitted black tights/leggings are so comfortable (they fit me unbelievably well) and they're sexy! This almost never happens with me- if something looks really good on me it's usually the most uncomfortable.

So, I wore red nailpaint and red lipstick to go with it, curled my hair (myself, yes!), wore a big gold watch and carried my favourite sling bag.

And voila! Got ten compliments on how good I looked ;)

PS: This look is, needless to say, also perfect for a work get together.

Winter Love

Namaste girls :)

I just got home from work and now I'm in my bed, snuggled up in a thick blanket and having a cup of warm chai. Doesn't it sound like a typical winter eve? Especially if you live in the North.

You know how winters can be drab mainly due to the number of layers one has to wear! But to keep things interesting, I mostly try to add colour to the last of the many layers I wear to work.

Thought I'd share a few of my recent outfits:

I love blazers. They're so stylish. Especially the cotton ones. They aren't very warm so they can just be used as a style quotient.

But yes, if you feel a little too cold, then you could opt on wearing a thicker blazer/ overcoat instead (Refer below)

Here, I've just teamed up a simple white shirt with a pink blazer, keeping everything else simple- including the shoes.

If you're feeling a bit wild you could even add a tie with this outfit. It could give a add a classy element to it.

I give this lightweight jacket a big thumbs up this winter- perfect for formal and semi occasions.

The red coat below is one of my favourites. It's not lightweight- hence it's appropriate for the very cold winter days- the ones where you need to wear another layer when you step outside.
As mentioned on my facebook page,
moccasins are my new
indulgence

Beige muffler from Old Navy match my beige moccasins; not everything should be the exact colour.

Ruffles ruffles everywhere. How can anyone not adore them?

I teamed up this striped ruffled shirt with my purple Zara sweater and Zara pants.

The outfit is nothing over the top- but stylish for sure.

I play around with the H&M dressing room quite often and these are the styles I invented. Ha ha. I love colours. I can't let go of them even when it's 6 degrees outside. I just have to toss atleast ONE colour in my outfit. (Refer the red blazer above :P)

Anyway, I'm signing off now. I know I've been pretty dull on blogger lately, but my resolution for this year is to blog more often. So I will be back real soon!

Happy New Year girls!
Keep it stylish to work.
